Curly Coily Kids: Summer Reading Series Feature

Posted on Posted in Press

📚Representation in literature matters for children. Stories impart wisdom in a deeply intimate way that we as parents could never replicate by words alone. 📚 📖Reading about characters 👩‍🚀🕵🏽‍♂️👩🏿‍⚖️👩🏼‍🚒 that reflect part of themselves is a great way for children to create highly personal connections between the story and their own life experience. This is why I created a Summer Reading eGuide🌄 and why I'll be featuring independent authors and publishers throughout the summer. First up in our series is the creator of the sister girl character. Meet Nicole Fenner who began her career as an author at the age of 6 years old. "As a child I loved to read. My favorite thing in the summer to do was attend the summer reading program at the local library and read all the books. I use to watch Reading Rainbow 🌈 at the end of the episode. I would write down all the books that Levar Burton recommended and walk to the local library in Halifax, NC to get all the books. " You can find out more at @sistergirlcollection. You can also download your free eGuide by clicking the link in the bio. If you would like to be featured or have an author you love that you really want to share with us drop a comment below. #readingisessential #raisingreaders #sistergirlcollection #readingrainbow
